Influence of Different Types of Auxins and Cytokinins on Dendrocalamus asper Bamboo Growth in Liquid Media

Abstract

Dendrocalamus asper bamboo plays a vital role in many economic sectors, including construction, food, handicrafts, and the paper and pulp industry, leading to a surge in demand for large-scale production of D. asper.  In vitro technique can be used as an alternative to the traditional propagation method, which is lacking in various aspects, such as being time-consuming and requiring high labour costs. It is suitable to implement a tissue culture technique to balance the gap between demand and supply. This research aimed to increase the production of D. asper bamboo tissue culture using various auxins and cytokinins in liquid culture.
