This study was conducted to investigate the emission of methane (CH₄) from the aerobic composting process at the Composting Centre of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam. Methane is recognized as one of the most potent greenhouse gases, with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide (CO₂). When organic waste is not properly managed or assessed, accidental methane production can occur, posing a serious threat to environmental sustainability. Understanding the sources and conditions that lead to methane emissions in composting processes is essential for improving campus waste management and reducing environmental impact.
