Abstract

Natural products play an important role in drug discovery, offering therapeutic potential across multiple therapeutic areas. Flavonoids, a major class of natural compounds, possess diverse biological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer effects. However, limited natural abundance and complex structures challenge their development. Synthetic derivatives of flavonoids are being explored to enhance pharmacological properties. In this study, two novel flavone derivatives, 2-(trifluoromethoxy) benzyl 4-(4-oxo-4H-chromen-2-yl) benzoate (61) and 2-oxo-2-(2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl) ethyl 4-(4-oxo-4H-chromen-2-yl) benzoate (63) were synthesized and characterized. These compounds remain unexplored, and this research aims to investigate their synthesis and confirm their structure through NMR, MS and IR.
