Abstract

Tannins are polyphenolic compounds abundantly found in various plant sources such as bark, leaves, fruits, and seeds. Knows for their bioactive properties, tannins are gaining attention for applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.  However, their incorporation into commercial products is still limited due to gaps in understanding regarding their biological functions, extraction efficiency, and health benefits. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of tannin-rich sources and evaluate their biological properties and associated health benefits to support industrial integration.
