Abstract

In the history of Islamic entrepreneurship, Rasulullah PBUH serves as a role model for successful entrepreneurial leadership. He possessed entrepreneurial characteristics such as fatanah, amanah, siddiq, and tabligh, which should be emulated by entrepreneurs striving for success. In Malaysia, one of the allocations of zakat funds aimed at fostering Muslim entrepreneurs is through the distribution of business capital to asnaf, which has proven to produce successful asnaf entrepreneurs. This study aims to examine the experiences of successful asnaf entrepreneurs through their personal characteristics and to develop a model that can serve as a guide for other asnaf entrepreneurs. The study employs a qualitative transcendental-phenomenological approach, involving seven successful asnaf entrepreneur icons. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using phenomenological methods with the aid of Atlas.ti Version 8 software. The findings reveal that the qualities of fatanah, amanah, siddiq, and tabligh are inherent in successful asnaf entrepreneurs. The themes generated from these four qualities form the Character Model of Fatanah, Amanah, Siddiq, and Tabligh Based on the Experiences of Successful Asnaf Entrepreneurs. The findings can serve as a reference for zakat institutions and related agencies in strengthening training aspects, particularly in building the self-identity and personality of asnaf, so that they can become self-reliant and ultimately move out of the asnaf status.
