Southeast Asia countries, particularly Malaysia and Indonesia, holds vast potential for innovative pharmaceuticals that integrate biodiversity with traditional knowledge. However, translating these resources into commercially viable products requires expertise in both pharmaceutical science and entrepreneurship, an emerging field known as pharmapreneurship. Pharmapreneurship, a concept that merges pharmaceutical aspects with entrepreneurial strategies to market natural product-based therapies, is a new field that has yet to be discovered in Malaysia. Given the limited local expertise in Malaysia, this study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a webinar as a knowledge-sharing platform on natural products and pharmapreneurship. This issue can be addressed through a webinar, which gathers participants and speakers worldwide. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a webinar in delivering knowledge on natural products and pharmapreneurship. A total of 388 participants participated in this study, with simple questions used to gauge their understanding. The effectiveness of the webinar is measured by comparing participants’ knowledge before and after the webinar. Data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 28.0 and presented in tables and percentages. The findings revealed a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge following the webinar (p<0.001). In conclusion, this study underscores the role of webinars in enhancing professional education, especially in niche fields where expertise is limited. While the convenience sampling and simple question format were the limitations, presented results provide empirical support for webinars as effective tools for continuous learning and knowledge dissemination in pharmacy education for the advancement of pharmapreneurship.
Nurul Alyaa Ibrahim Nur 'Ainun Mokhtar Siti Nur Fadzilah Muhsain Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Intelek 2025-01-31 2025-01-31 20 1 35 45 Evaluating The Impact of Agro-Entrepreneurial Activities In an Academic Health Promotion Program at a Children’s Activity Centre in Kuala Muda https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/JI/article/view/3777
In 2016, the government launched the Young Agropreneur Program to encourage young people to participate in agriculture, agri-food, and entrepreneurship. Since then, the studies related to corporate sustainability practices and financial performance have gained extensive interest among researchers and academics. Nonetheless, studies on the association between sustainability performance (SUSP) and corporate financial stability (CFS) are still scarce and the results remain inconclusive. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the association between the SUSP and CFS focusing on the Shariah-compliant companies in Malaysia. In addition, this study attempted to investigate the moderating roles of different forms of ownership structures on the SUSP-CFS nexus. Using balanced panel data from 2021 to 2023, the Fixed Effect models as suggested by the Hausman test, indicate that the SUSP has mixed association with CFS. In addition, concentrated ownership has a negative but insignificant influence on the CFS whilst managerial ownership shows positive but insignificant influences on the CFS. In terms of moderating roles, concentrated ownership indicates a weakening effect on the SUSP-CFS association whilst managerial ownership poses a strengthening effect on the SUSP-CFS association. This study benefits the management of companies, investors and policymakers as well as enriching the body of knowledge on sustainability-financial stability literature. The corporate sectors need to sustainability practices through ESG initiatives in their strategic planning. The investors have to support the corporate sustainability practices by taking into account the sustainability factors in their investment decisions. Policymakers are to play more attentive roles in encouraging the corporate sectors in their sustainability practices by providing efficient infrastructure, robust ESG frameworks, and effective incentive packages. With these concerted efforts, the global SDGs agenda can be materialized successfully besides ensuring the financial stability of the Shariah-compliant companies in Malaysia.
Mohamad Azwan Md Isa Norashikin Ismail Mohd Halim Kadri Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Intelek 2025-01-31 2025-01-31 20 1 106 124 Factors Influencing Apartment Rental Prices in Kuala Lumpur: A Statistical Analysis https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/JI/article/view/3795
Apartment rental prices in Kuala Lumpur are influenced by numerous factors. This study employed a qualitative case study approach, utilizing document analysis of the revised curriculum, syllabus for ODL, sample assessments, and related materials to examine the implementation of remote assessments in evaluating students' psychomotor skills. The findings indicate that the evaluated alternative remote assessments hardly assess the true attainment of student engineering practices and specialist knowledge in laboratory conduct during the pandemic. Despite various alternative assessments being identified, most can only develop student psychomotor skills up to level P2 (i.e. awareness). This study offers valuable insights for CQI, aiding in the enhancement of curriculum design to ensure alignment with the psychomotor learning outcomes essential for engineering education.
Nur Asmaliza Mohd Nor Chai Lian Oh Wardah Tahir Mohd Azuan Tukiar Che Maznah Mat Isa Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Intelek 2025-01-31 2025-01-31 20 1 239 253 Bibliometric Analysis Of Financial Literacy Level https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/JI/article/view/4425
Financial literacy level refers to the overall understanding of an individual's competency in managing finances. This article presents a bibliometric study on financial literacy. It was conducted using VOSviewer 1.6.18 to assess worldwide research trends, focusing on publication growth, publishing outputs by country, themes of interest, and co-occurrences of author keywords. Bibliometrics is a relatively new research methodology that has grown into a well-established aspect of information research and a quantitative approach to document description. The Scopus database obtained 563 papers published between 2019 and 2023. The literature search statistics indicate a decreasing trend in publishing outputs. Most of the papers came from scholars in the United States, followed by India and China. The keyword "financial literacy" appears most frequently in articles, followed by "financial knowledge." A closer examination of author keyword co-occurrences revealed that "financial literacy" had 242 instances. These findings could guide future research into under-explored aspects of financial literacy.
Auryn Rahiem Hasyeilla Abd Mutalib Norhisam Bulot Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Intelek 2025-01-31 2025-01-31 20 1 254 264
