Abstract

Health literacy research is rapidly expanding. A literature search will be used to evaluate the school librarian's participation in health literacy initiatives and programmes. Scopus, Web of Science, Emerald Insight, and Research Gate databases were searched. This paper analyses 25 studies published between 2015 and 2023 to determine current research trends on the convergence of the role of school librarians in health literacy and health literacy programmes for students. The ability to read and understand health information is crucial. Librarians' skills and knowledge are well adapted to contributing to the promotion of health literacy among a diverse range of people and circumstances, particularly among students. Librarians are actively exploring a wide range of health literacy programmes in partnership with other professionals and organisations. Overall, the findings of this research help to clarify the role of school librarians in promoting health literacy and emphasise the necessity of evaluating and enhancing health literacy materials and services in school libraries. It emphasises the ability of librarians to promote health literacy among students in a variety of contexts. At the end of the paper, the researchers suggest assessing how well school libraries serve students in need of help with health literacy
