https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/JIKM/article/view/3664

This study investigates online database usage patterns at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Negeri Sembilan through a data mining approach, specifically utilizing association rule mining and the Apriori algorithm. The primary objective is to analyze user behavior in accessing 23 subscribed online databases, aiming to uncover correlations between academic programs and database access patterns. Findings reveal significant associations among databases, indicating that certain programs are more likely to access specific databases together. For instance, students enrolled in Library Management and Food Technology programs frequently accessed both Emerald Insight and ScienceDirect. The study highlights a concerning trend of decreased database usage despite rising subscription costs, emphasizing the need for improved user engagement strategies. By profiling users based on their database access, the library can tailor its services to better meet the needs of its community, ultimately enhancing the academic experience. The research underscores the importance of data mining in optimizing resource allocation and improving library services in the digital age.
Mohd Aizat Abd HalimSafawi Abdul Rahman

https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/JIKM/article/view/3665

Digital inclusion is a pressing global challenge and Malaysia is no exception. Access, affordability and digital ability remains a challenge in achieving digital inclusion in Malaysia. Previous studies have only focused either one or two of these three factors at a time, leading to the absence of a comprehensive digital inclusion model. Additionally, there is dearth of study on the topic of digital inclusion among the lower income group. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that contribute to digital inclusion within the B40 community and to further investigate the digital gender gap that exists within that community. The study adopts quantitative research paradigm utilising survey questionnaire as data collection method. Questionnaire items were adopted from past research works consisting of three constructs; access, affordability, and digital ability, as measurement tool for digital inclusion model. Survey was distributed and administered physically in the presence of researcher and community leader at Pusat Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Kerinchi which is located in Kuala Lumpur city centre. Among the three factors, study findings shows that affordability is the main barrier for the B40 community to be digitally included as digital technologies and cost of internet are becoming too costly. Consequently, this has an effect on their accessibility to the internet as a result of the fact that the likelihood of them possessing devices and purchasing internet and mobile data plans is significantly reduced due to their fairly low income. The findings of the survey also showed that there is no difference between men and women regarding their level of perceived digital inclusion within the community. The study findings reveal the importance of a holistic approach to digital inclusion in Malaysia. The interplay between access, affordability and digital ability emphasizes the need for collaborative efforts among government, civil society, academia and industry stakeholders to create an inclusive digital ecosystem
Jasber Kaur GSHalimatus Saadiah Ab Karim

https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/JIKM/article/view/3667

Devices have been transmitting data automatically and in real-time without human involvement for years; the idea of the Internet of Things (IoT) is a new trend in technology that depends on smart devices, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). IoT is the capacity to create intelligent, connected objects out of commonplace products like machines, buildings, and cars that can communicate with users, apps, and each other. Businesses that understand how to link their devices and equipment can produce essential data, send it securely over numerous networks, and gather, store, and analyze it to turn it into usable information in real-time. The design of such a smart product, city, home, or service is challenging for software designers; it requires expert and professional personnel to benefit from IoT. This paper aims to present a theoretical model of the IoT characteristics and architecture and highlight the guidelines for the design process.
Thanyatida Gunadham

https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/JIKM/article/view/3666

This paper discusses on the transmission of the learning session from face to face to online learning. The study reveals the digital literacy level among students besides some of them still not aware of the importance of online learning that could help in their academic performances. There were issues where students face difficulties when searching for information effectively. The study was conducted to identify digital literacy among UiTM students in seeking the information they need for their studies from the electronic databases. The study sets out to examine the digital literacy level among students and to determine the relationship between the effect of digital literacy and student performance. Using survey data from students of UiTM, the study found out that effort expectancy, social influence and technology tool skill have a positive interaction effect on the outcome variable. The paper has fulfilled the objectives of the study which is related to the digital literacy level among UiTM students.
Wan Nor Haliza Wan MokhtarNorhayati HussinShahrul Nadzmi Mohd Shahari

https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/JIKM/article/view/3668

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in education will grow in the future as technology advances. By looking for a new research setting, the relationship between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social in-fluence, facilitating conditions and behavioural intention towards ChatGPT of selected undergraduate students in Malaysia is the central theme for this study. This study was conducted throughout Malaysia with a total of 218 valid questionnaires were obtained from selected undergraduate student in Malaysia. Findings of the study show that relationship between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions and behavioural intention towards ChatGPT are significant. This research can be extended by more investigations and analysis of the many variables, as well as exploring other potential areas of inquiry.
Mohammad Fazli BaharuddinNur Diyanah Ahmad ZakiKhairun Nizam Mohammad YusuffMuhammad Asyraf Wahi Anuar
