Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the perceptions of academic administrators regarding the role of innovative leadership styles in facilitating the implementation of hybrid learning at the university level, focusing on the leaders' contributions to adopting such styles for effective implementation. The recent pandemic prompted significant changes in the methodologies and frameworks of formal education, requiring the comprehensive application of hybrid learning to address the circumstances effectively. The qualitative study design involved targeted informants who were heads of departments chosen from several kulliyyahs at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews. The accumulated data were then transcribed using thematic analysis, and themes were obtained to answer all the research questions. Research has demonstrated significant support for the specified leadership style in relation to the efficacy of hybrid learning.
