Instructions for Author

The Journal of Halal Science and Management Research (JHSMR) welcomes the submission of original, high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in halal science, management and related disciplines.

All submissions must comply with the journal’s publication ethics, editorial policies and formatting requirements.

1. General Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Melayu.
  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.
  • A submission declaration statement must be provided confirming that the manuscript is not submitted elsewhere.
  • The journal currently does not charge any article processing charges (APC) or submission fees.
  • Authors retain copyright of their work, subject to the journal’s licensing terms.

2. Manuscript Preparation

2.1 Format and Length

  • Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word (version 6 or higher).
  • The maximum length is 17 pages, including references, tables, and figures.
  • Text must be single-spaced using font size 10.
  • Authors must ensure consistency in formatting throughout the manuscript.

2.2 Language and Style

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct language.
  • Either British or American English may be used, but must be applied consistently throughout the manuscript.

3. Manuscript Structure

JHSMR applies the IMRaD structure for all research articles:

  • Introduction
  • Methodology
  • Results / Analysis
  • Discussion

Authors must ensure that each section is clearly defined and logically presented.

4. Title Page and Author Information

The manuscript must include:

  • Full title of the article
  • Full names of all authors
  • Institutional affiliations (including country)
  • Corresponding author clearly identified
  • Email address for each author
  • Contact information (including telephone number) for all authors

All authors must be accurately identified to ensure transparency and proper attribution.

5. Abstract and Keywords

  • Each manuscript must include an abstract in English.
  • The abstract should clearly summarize the objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.
  • Authors must provide up to five (5) keywords that reflect the core content of the study.

6. Citations and References

  • All citations and references must comply with APA style (latest edition).
  • References must be presented in Roman script.
  • Authors must ensure that all cited works are relevant, accurate and properly formatted.

7. Ethical and Disclosure Requirements

All submissions must include the following statements:

  • Conflict of Interest Statement
  • Funding Information (if applicable)
  • Ethics Approval Statement (for research involving human or animal subjects)
  • Data Availability Statement (where applicable)
  • Author Contribution Statement

Authors must ensure that all ethical requirements are fully met and transparently reported.

8. Submission and Review Process

  • Manuscripts are subject to peer review to ensure academic quality and integrity.
  • Authors must cooperate with the editorial process and respond to reviewer comments in a timely manner.
  • The editorial board reserves the right to request revisions or reject submissions that do not meet journal standards.

9. Licensing and Copyright

All articles are published under the:

Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0)

This allows sharing and adaptation of the work with appropriate attribution and the same licensing terms.
