We investigate whether board attributes affect strategic change of Malaysian listed companies from 2013 to 2020. Our findings indicate that board independence, board tenure, board ethnicity and multiple directorships significantly influenced strategic change. This study underscores the importance of board diversity and directors' commitment to strategic change, providing valuable insights for companies seeking performance improvement. The MCCG 2021 emphasizes the significance of implementing best practices for board structure, and our research suggests that board attributes play a vital role in a company's ability to respond and adapt to a dynamic business environment, essential for growth and survival in a competitive market.
