About the Journal

The Journal of Emerging Legal Studies (JELS) is an international peer-reviewed (double-blind) academic journal established in 2026 to advance emerging legal studies in theory and practice across jurisdictions.  JELS examines how legal theories and practices evolve in response to legal, societal, regulatory and institutional changes.

Managed by the Faculty of Law and published by UiTM Press, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, JELS provides an international forum for original works that advances legal theories and practices through doctrinal, empirical and comparative studies across jurisdictions. 

The journal  welcomes academics, researchers, legal practitioners, judges, policymakers and postgraduate students to publish research, case commentary and book review that promote emerging legal theories and practices.
