About the Journal
Submission Preparation Checklist:
Publication and Research Ethics
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items:
All submissions must be original and should not have been previously accepted for publication in a journal, conference proceedings or be under review at another conference or publications.
- Submission should be accompanied by Turnitin report of less than 20 percent (%) similarity index/score, and should adhere to the manuscript format in author guidelines that can be found in our official website.
- INSIGHT Journal affirms that ethical publication practices and maintaining journal reputation are critical to ensure the success of development knowledge. Therefore, only high-quality paper/manuscript will be considered and accepted for publication.
- Every manuscript accepted will be considered and get final approval for publication by the editorial team.
Policy on generative AI and AI-assisted technologies utilisation in the manuscripts for INSIGHT Journal editorial process and publication
- The implementation of this policy has been prompted by the increasing prevalence of generative AI (Artificial Intelligent) and AI-assisted technologies. Its objective is to offer enhanced transparency and assistance to writers, editors, and reviewers. Starting in 2024, INSIGHT Journal will actively monitor current developments in this field and make any adjustments or refinements to the policy.
INSIGHT Journal will only consider manuscripts that contain zero (or as minimum as possible – authors must provide justifications). Author(s) is/are required to submit an AI Detection Report together with the manuscript. - When using generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in writing, authors should only improve readability and language. AI can produce authoritative-sounding output that is wrong, partial, or biased, therefore authors should carefully review and revise the results. Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies should not be noted as authors or co-authors. IJ's AI policy for authors states that authors must do human activities (i.e., writing, drawing, etc in the manuscript entirely).
- Follow the following steps to disclose generative AI and AI-assisted technology use in writing. The work will include a statement. Please note that author(s) are entirely responsible for his/her/their manuscript.
Disclosure guidelines
The core manuscript file must include a statement at the end of the paper before the References list disclosing the usage of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies. A new section called ‘Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process’ should contain the statement:
“This work was prepared using [Name Tool / Service] for [Reason]. This tool/service allowed the author(s) to examine and edit the content and accept full responsibility for the publication.”
Preparation and Submission of Manuscripts
-
The maximum number of authors allowed for a paper is limited to five.
-
The author must use the correct manuscript template and submit two versions: a full paper and a blinded version (without author information).

- The submission file is in Microsoft Word
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- Please ensure range of 150-250 words of abstract summarizing its content.

Peer-review and decisions
The journal uses double-blind peer review (neither the authors nor the reviewers know the identity of each other) to avoid bias. See the journal peer review policy.
After submission all articles are evaluated by the editorial office and may be immediately rejected if they are considered to be out of the journal's scope or otherwise unfit for consideration. Articles which passed initial evaluation will be sent out for external review. Reviewer reports with a decision from the editor will be returned to the authors as soon as possible, but please be patient as reviewing can take up to 60 days.
After review, the editor will make a decision of: reject, accept, or revise. Revisions may be major or minor. If a decision of revision is made, authors are asked to make their revisions as quickly as possible – if there are extensive delays in revising an article then it may be considered a new submission. Revised articles may be sent out for review again, depending on the level of revision requested.
Article types
The journal welcomes all original submissions of articles and reviews that comply with the aim and scope of the journal.
All submissions must be original papers, and not be under consideration by a journal elsewhere.
If the paper contains anything that has already been published (e.g. figures) then this must be declared and authors are responsible for obtaining relevant permissions to republish. Evidence of permission granted must be available if requested.
General guidelines
The jounal accept English, Arabic & Malay language articles. Authors are responsible for the language quality in their article, and is strongly recommended to have your manuscript checked by any language specialist before submission, in order to ensure that the language is acceptable.
