Abstract

Mafatih Al-Ghayb is a Quran commentary written by Imam Al-Razi. One unique aspect of his interpretation is the aspect of al-lataif. This study aims to identify the uslub and al-lataif themes in the basmalah. Description of al-lataif is an effort to highlight the miracle of the Quran from the aspect of language that can give flavor to the spiritual and human intelectual. This study used the method of analysis of documents via electronic software 'Maktabah al-Syamilah' version 3:48. Inductive, deductive and thematic approaches were performed to issue a major theme of al-lataif contained in basmalah. The study found that there are four uslub used to highlight the aspect of al-lataif. In addition, this study identified that the main themes contained in basmalah are the theme of faith, tasawuf, spirituality and Arabic grammar. This article concludes that aspect of al-Lataif also part of basmalah interpretation and description section. In addition, this study concluded that an aspect of al-Lataif issued by Imam Al-Razi was laden with tasawuf aspect that moves consciences of men to understand and feel the grandeur of Al-Rahman Al-Rahim Allah SWT. Therefore, an assessment of al-Lataif can help in deepening belief in Allah and the contents of the Quran.
