This study discusses the issues of Qada’ and intentional abandonement of Qada’ prayer, whether it is compulsory to Qada’ or not. This is due to the fact that there are still some misunderstandings among Muslims towards Qada’ prayers. They think that Qada’ is only for those who accidentally missed their prayers due to Syar’ie sickness such as being forgetful or oversleep. Meanwhile, deliberate abandonement of prayers to cater to business and laziness are not needed to be perform Qada’. The person only needs to repent and to pray to Allah SWT for forgiveness as well as to increase the practices of circumcision. This study is aimed at focusing on the real understandings of Qada’, the difference between Qada’ prayer with Adha' and the jurisdiction of performing Qada’ in solat Fardhu either after deliberately or accidentally abandoning it because of Syar’ie uzur. The researchers then will discuss the ulamas’ discussions regarding the law of Qada’ in Fardhu prayers with regards to intentional abandonement of normal scheduled prayers. The method used in this study is a library-study-based on reference materials such as books and publications published on this topic. Analysis used is deductive methodology which is to draw a specific conclusion from the general information. The results obtained from this study show that it is an obligation to Qada’ Fardhu prayers after it is intentionally abandoned, and this statement is strongly backed up by the opinions of the Muslim scholars. In conclusion, Qada’ prayer is absolutely mandatory whether deliberately or inadvertently not being able to perform prayers according to the actual time. This is because prayer is Allah S.W.T.’s rights that must be fulfilled and is a payable debt to the person who ignores it.
