Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (OR an explanation has been provided in Comments by the Editor).
  • Authors are required to propose two (2) potential reviewers respected in their fields for each submitted article. The name, academic position, name of the institution and email address of the potential reviewer should be provided at the end of the article.
  • The manuscript must be submitted in British English and should be proofread by a competent English Language editor OR Grammarly Score more than 90%
  • The submission file is in Word file format according to the template downloaded in the Author Guidelines.
  • All requirements for text and bibliographic style are outlined in the Author Guidelines and the template downloaded
  • Authors should obtain permission to publish illustrations/images/figures copyrighted by others before submission and acknowledgements should be included in the captions.
  • Authors from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) will co-author/collaborate with at least two (2) authors from the higher education institution and the industry, respectively [Compulsory for UiTM authors]
  • Authors from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) are encouraged to collaborate with international academicians.

Author Guidelines

SUBMISSION

All materials submitted for publication must be original, unpublished work and are NOT under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Papers/manuscripts must be submitted through an online system. Authors are required to propose two (2) potential reviewers respected in their fields for each submitted article. The name, academic position, name of the institution and email address of the potential reviewer should be provided at the end of the article.

For the online submission, the author (contributor) should "register" as a user and "log in" through https://journal.uitm.edu.my/ojs/index.php/BEJ/

Editors reserve the right to edit/comment on the content of the manuscript. If the editors recommend major or substantial amendments, the authors can accept or reject the recommendations (and withdraw participation).

The manuscript must be submitted in British English.

Length

An Original research paper should be between 5000 and 6000 words.

A review paper should be no more than 7000 words.

Copyright

EDITORIAL & REVIEWING PROCESS

  1. Submission of a manuscript by contributor/author through the online system.
  2. The Chief Editor makes a prescreening and the Managing Editor assigns a Section Editor/Associate Section Editor for the manuscript or rejects the manuscript.
  3. The Section Editor assigns two (2) reviewers for the manuscript for reviewing purposes.
  4. All reviews are double-blind reviewing. 
  5. The Section Editor receives comments from reviewers and advises on corrections and resubmissions. 
  6. The author repairs and resubmits the manuscript. 
  7. The Chief Editor/Managing Editor makes a decision on the manuscript. 
  8. If accepted, the Copy Editor and Associate Copy Editor do the final formatting and editing.
  9. The Managing Editor publishes the manuscript.
  10. All processes should be completed within 2 months.
