This study offers a thorough bibliometric examination of the research environment around the idea of predisposition for indebtedness. The research, based on papers indexed in major academic databases, finds significant trends, influential authors, leading journals, and topic clusters that have historically affected the discipline. The study used co-citation, keyword co-occurrence, and bibliographic coupling to elucidate the interdisciplinary character of the topic, encompassing domains such as behavioral economics, consumer finance, psychology, and social policy. The results emphasize shifting research priorities, encompassing credit behavior, financial literacy, debt stress, and socio-demographic factors influencing indebtedness. Furthermore, the analysis reveals nascent areas of investigation and prospective deficiencies for subsequent exploration. This bibliometric method delineates the conceptual framework of the discipline while offering significant insights for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners focused on comprehending and tackling the behavioral determinants of debt.
