About the Journal
The Malaysian Journal of Sport Science and Recreation (MJSSR) (ISSN: 1823-3198) is an open-access international refereed journal. MJSSR will be accepting research papers in sport science, sport management, physical education, and fitness in various fields of research that include (but not limited to) adapted physical education, health and wellness, extension education and sports, exercise participation across the lifespan, biomechanical and physiological aspects of sports and recreation.
1. ARTICLE PUBLICATION FEE AND INDEXING
PUBLICATION IS FREE OF CHARGE. MJSSR is indexed in Google Scholar, MyJurnal, MyCite, and ERA 2023
2. PUBLICATION SCHEDULE
The Malaysian Journal of Sport Science and Recreation (MJSSR) is published twice a year, with issues released in:

Submissions are accepted year-round and will be scheduled for publication based on the completion of the peer review and editorial process. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts well in advance to be considered for the upcoming issue.
3. OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT STATEMENT
The Malaysian Journal of Sport Science and Recreation (MJSSR) is owned, managed, and published by the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. The journal is supported and governed by an editorial board comprising academic and industry experts in the fields of sport science, recreation, health, and physical education.
MJSSR is committed to transparency in its ownership and operations. All editorial decisions are made independently by the editorial board, and no commercial or external interests influence the peer review or publication processes. The journal's name accurately reflects its institutional affiliation and subject scope, and does not mislead authors, reviewers, or readers regarding its ownership or objectives.
4. ACCESS
The Malaysian Journal of Sport Science and Recreation (MJSSR) is an open-access journal. All articles published in MJSSR are freely available to readers worldwide, without any subscription fees, registration, or pay-per-view charges.
Readers can access, download, and share articles via the official journal website. MJSSR is committed to ensuring broad dissemination of scholarly work and increasing the visibility and impact of research in sport science and recreation.
5. REVENUE SOURCES
The Malaysian Journal of Sport Science and Recreation (MJSSR) is published by the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and operates as a non-profit, open-access journal.
MJSSR does not charge any article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. The journal is fully supported through internal funding from UiTM, including operational and administrative support provided by the faculty.
No revenue is generated through advertising, commercial sponsorship, or paid access. The primary objective of MJSSR is to facilitate the dissemination of quality research in sport science and recreation, promoting knowledge sharing within the academic and professional communities.
