Publication Ethics
The Journal of Sustainable Civil Engineering & Technology (JSCET) is committed to upholding high standards of publication ethics in accordance with the COPE Code of Conduct. All parties involved in the publishing process must adhere to the following guidelines.
1. DUTIES OF AUTHORS
- Originality: Submitted work must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Plagiarism & Citation: Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable. If using others' words/works, they must be cited. If the article is derived from the author's own thesis, the Editor must be informed in the cover letter.
- Authorship: Limited to those who made significant contributions to conception, design, analysis, or drafting. All co-authors must approve the final version.
- Data Retention: Authors must be ready to provide raw data for review and retain it after publication.
- Conflicts & Errors: Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest, sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement, and promptly notify Editors of any errors in their published work.
2. DUTIES OF REVIEWERS
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts are confidential documents and must not be discussed with others.
- Objectivity: Reviews must be objective with clear, supporting arguments. Personal criticism is inappropriate.
- Source Acknowledgement: Reviewers should identify relevant unpublished work and alert Editors to substantial overlap with other papers.
- Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must decline manuscripts where they have conflicts (competitive or collaborative) with authors or institutions.
3. DUTIES OF EDITORS
- Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief decides on publication based on importance, originality, clarity, and scope, often in consultation with reviewers.
- Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated without regard to the authors' race, gender, belief, citizenship, or origin.
- Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose submission details to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.
- Conflicts: Editors must recuse themselves from processing manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.
- Investigations: Responsive measures must be taken when ethical complaints are raised concerning a submission.
4. PUBLISHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure editors and stakeholders adopt best publishing policies.
- Integrity: Support the Editor-in-Chief in addressing scientific misconduct, fraud, or plagiarism.
- Rights: Verify publication rights and licensing; strictly prevent research misconduct.
- Non-Discrimination: The Publisher does not
