This article examines how Instagram captions posted by Malaysian Muslim women’s fashion brands can act as pedagogical resources in language education. The objective of the study is to explore how code-switching between Malay and English reflects Malaysia’s sociolinguistic landscape and offers culturally grounded opportunities for student learning. The data for this study consists of selected Instagram captions from four prominent local brands: Ariani, Bella Ammara, Radiusite, and Scarffeya, which are known for appealing to modern Muslim women through modest fashion. The study adopts a Critical Discourse Analysis approach, with particular attention to lexical choices and how language constructs identity, normalises hybrid linguistic expression, and reinforces persuasive messaging. Rather than incorporating visual data, the analysis centres on written captions and hashtags to uncover how digital language practices encode Islamic values, project femininity, and appeal to culturally diverse audiences. The findings suggest that these captions mirror the everyday bilingual discourse of many Malaysian students and represent a rich source of culturally meaningful communication. Instagram serves as both a branding platform and a discursive environment that embraces and celebrates hybrid language usage. This linguistic reality can be meaningfully integrated into language classrooms to support critical literacy and raise awareness of local communicative norms. The article argues that students can learn to read, reflect on, and produce texts that affirm their multilingual identities while continuing to engage with the cultural practice of code-switching in purposeful and informed ways.
