Abstract

This paper analyzes the traditional patterns of Fuyang paper-cutting by using the theory of shape grammar, and explores the application strategy of its pattern elements in modern cultural and creative product design, in order to promote the inheritance and development of Fuyang paper-cutting and explore its potential value in modern design. Through a comprehensive analysis of the elemental forms and artistic styles of Fuyang paper-cutting; combined with the literature method and computer-aided design technology, this paper analyzes the pattern elements of Fuyang paper-cutting in detail. On this basis, a series of novel derivative pattern elements are created by applying the shape grammar theory to the traditional patterns, and successfully applied in the design of cultural and creative products. The article finally summarizes the transformation path of Fuyang paper-cutting pattern elements in the context of modern design, puts forward strategic suggestions to promote the harmonious coexistence of traditional skills and modern design, emphasizes the dual importance of innovation in inheritance and inheritance in innovation, and provides useful references and inspirations for the living inheritance and sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage.
