Abstract

Graphic novels adapted from real-life events or lived experiences serve as a platform for visual representation of the relationships between memory and storytelling. Graphic storytelling based on lived experiences places significance in the evidence of subsisting elements outside the frame, allowing the readers to use their imagination in bringing still images to life. When appropriately developed, visual narratives enhanced with colours could reflect reality over time. This paper seeks to analyse the use of colours in enhancing the significance of visual narratives that could affect readers' psychological connection and recollection of social history by utilising content analysis. The lying colour aspects and colour schemes enhance a visual narrative and stimulate psychological responses and emotional reactions while communicating the artistic intent and meaning.
