Peer Review

Voice of Academia (VoA) employs a structured and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and scholarly rigor of all manuscripts submitted for publication.

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. This approach helps ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation of each manuscript.

Review and Publication Workflow

1. Manuscript Submission and Initial Screening

Upon submission, manuscripts are received and registered by the editorial office. The Editorial Team conducts an initial screening to assess whether the submission fits the journal’s aims and scope and meets basic scholarly and formatting requirements.

2. Assignment to Reviewers

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are forwarded to members of the Editorial Board and assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

During the peer review stage, reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including:

  • originality and scholarly contribution
  • methodological rigor and analytical quality
  • clarity of argument and structure
  • relevance to the journal’s scope and readership.

This review process typically takes up to four weeks.

4. Author Revision

If revisions are required, the manuscript is returned to the author with detailed reviewer comments and recommendations. Authors are normally given two weeks to revise and resubmit the manuscript in accordance with the reviewers’ feedback.

5. Language and Technical Review

Revised manuscripts may undergo a language and technical review, during which clarity, grammar, coherence, and readability are evaluated to ensure that the manuscript meets the journal’s linguistic and presentation standards. Additional revisions may be requested if necessary.

6. Final Editorial Evaluation

The Editorial Team conducts a final review focusing on formatting consistency, citation style, and adherence to the journal’s publication guidelines.

7. Final Decision and Publication

After all revisions and editorial checks have been completed, the Chief Editor makes the final decision regarding publication. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and production before being published online as the version of record in Voice of Academia.
