Aim

The International Journal of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics (IJMAL) is a fully refereed, multilingual journal published four times a year by Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (APB), Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia. It accepts articles in English, Bahasa Melayu, and Asian and European languages and is indexed in Google Scholar, BASE Search, and the ABCD Index. The journal covers a broad range of topics in language and linguistics, including language acquisition, applied linguistics, language assessment, translation and interpretation, English for Specific and Academic Purposes, literature, language policy, technology in language teaching, and workplace communication. Originally known as the International Journal of Language Studies (IJLS), it began as a publication focused on research by APB academics before expanding to include contributions from international researchers and has since moved fully online.
