Abstract

The growing significance of personalization and advanced technologies in modern jewellery design calls for a reassessment of the skills developed through design education. This research explores the impact of curriculum frameworks on the enhancement of aesthetic composition abilities in jade design. As consumer preferences increasingly lean towards customized and tech-integrated jewellery, educators are challenged to blend traditional craftsmanship with innovative design approaches. A qualitative literature review was undertaken, focusing on design education, personalized jewellery, and smart wearable technologies. This review provided a systematic examination of pedagogical approaches, frameworks for skill development, and the correspondence between educational outcomes and industry needs. The synthesis of findings reveals how curriculum design can effectively foster both technical skills and creative problem-solving in jewellery design. The results suggest that comprehensive curriculum frameworks, which prioritize student-centered learning, hands-on experiences, and projects integrated with industry practices, significantly improve students' ability to create jade designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and culturally relevant. Integrating smart technology and personalized learning strategies into coursework fosters innovation and ensures alignment with current market demands. By harmonizing teaching methods with industry practices, educators can effectively bridge theoretical concepts with practical design applications, paving the way for innovative curriculum development in jewellery education. This research underscores the importance of curriculum design as a key factor in skill acquisition, linking traditional craftsmanship with modern technological and market-driven needs. The results offer valuable, evidence-based insights for educators, curriculum designers, and industry professionals aiming to nurture a new generation of adaptable, innovative, and culturally aware jewellery designers who can thrive in the dynamic realm of personalized and smart design.
