Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between the physical working environment and employee performance at a TVET institution. The factors examined include lighting, office furniture ergonomics, noise levels, and indoor temperature. Employee performance impacts organizational effectiveness, with poor performance disadvantaging the organization. The study used a correlational research design, distributing Likert Scale questionnaires to 217 respondents. Data were analyzed using SPSS Version 26, employing descriptive, reliability, correlation, and regression analyses. The results highlight significant positive relationships between environmental factors and employee performance, emphasizing the importance of adequate lighting, optimal indoor temperature, and reduced noise for enhancing productivity. These findings underscore the need to prioritize environmental quality in TVET institutions to maximize employee performance and organizational effectiveness.
