The Journal of Creative Arts (JCA) is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections, retractions and withdrawals are considered when errors or concerns materially affect the reliability, interpretation or integrity of a published work.
Corrections
A correction may be issued when a published article contains an error that does not invalidate the overall findings or scholarly contribution.
Corrections may address substantive factual, methodological or bibliographic errors as well as other inaccuracies identified after publication. The correction will clearly identify the affected article and describe the amendment. The original article will remain part of the published record where appropriate.
Retractions
An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that its findings or content are unreliable or when serious research or publication misconduct has occurred. Grounds may include:
A retraction notice will explain the reason for the retraction and will remain linked to the original publication to preserve the scholarly record.
Withdrawal
A manuscript may be withdrawn before publication were justified by the authors or journal. Withdrawal may be considered in cases involving serious errors, ethical concerns, duplicate submission or other circumstances that prevent responsible publication.
Requests for withdrawal after peer review or acceptance should provide a clear justification and may be subject to editorial review.
Post Publication Concerns
Concerns about published articles may be submitted to the Editor in Chief or publisher with supporting information. JCA will assess credible concerns fairly and confidentially and will provide authors with an opportunity to respond where appropriate.
Where necessary JCA may notify relevant institutions, funding bodies or indexing services and take appropriate action to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
