Vol. 7 No. 2 (2025): September 2025 Issue of the Journal of Islamic Philanthropy & Social Finance (JIPSF) features 10 articles that reflect the journal’s commitment to advancing research in Islamic philanthropy, social finance, Islamic finance, governance, and socio-economic development. The issue showcases both empirical and conceptual contributions that address contemporary challenges and opportunities within the Islamic social finance ecosystem. Several articles examine the role of Islamic social finance in improving societal well-being, including studies on the effects of the Zakat Index, Islamic Human Development Index (I-HDI), and unemployment on poverty reduction, as well as research on service quality perceptions among asnaf entrepreneurs. The issue also highlights governance and accountability concerns through an investigation of social outcome reporting challenges faced by Malaysian non-profit Islamic organisations. Financial and investment-related topics are represented through studies that apply the TOPSIS method to assess financial performance in Malaysia’s renewable energy and transportation sectors, alongside an analysis of the behaviour of conventional and Islamic bonds during the COVID-19 period. The issue further explores the impact of Islamic financial literacy on retirement planning behaviour among university academics. In addition, the issue addresses emerging ethical and digital dimensions of Islamic social finance. Conceptual papers discuss the institutionalisation of ihsan as a framework for ethical business excellence, the use of TikTok as a platform for Islamic crowdfunding and donor engagement, and the application of social marketing principles to strengthen zakat campaigns. Collectively, these contributions offer valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and Islamic social finance institutions seeking sustainable and impactful solutions for socio-economic development.
