Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors must confirm that the submission meets all of the following requirements:

  1. Originality: The manuscript is original, has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  2. Journal Scope: The manuscript falls within the aims and scope of the Journal of International Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship (JIBE).
  3. Manuscript Preparation: The manuscript is prepared in Microsoft Word using the official JIBE manuscript template and does not exceed 16 pages, including tables, figures and references.
  4. Language and Formatting: The manuscript is written in clear academic English and complies with JIBE's formatting, style and structural requirements.
  5. Similarity Screening: The manuscript satisfies JIBE's originality requirements. The similarity index does not exceed 20%, excluding references, quoted material and standard methodological expressions, as verified using plagiarism detection software.
  6. References: All sources are accurately cited in the text and the reference list is complete and formatted in accordance with JIBE's referencing style.
  7. Funding and Conflicts of Interest: All sources of funding and any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest have been fully disclosed during submission and within the manuscript, where applicable.
  8. Publication Ethics: The submission complies with JIBE's Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices.
  9. Use of Generative AI: Any use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the preparation of the manuscript has been disclosed in accordance with JIBE's Use of Generative AI Policy.
  10. Authorship: All listed authors meet the journal's authorship criteria, have made substantial contributions to the work, approved the final version of the manuscript, consent to its submission, and have reported their individual contributions using the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
  11. Journal Policies: The authors have read and agree to comply with all applicable JIBE policies, including:
  • Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement;
  • Peer Review Policy;
  • Plagiarism Policy;
  • Retraction, Correction and Withdrawal Policy;
  • Conflict of Interest Policy;
  • Use of Generative AI Policy;
  • Copyright and License Policy;
  • Open Access Policy; and
  • Archiving Policy.

    12. Double-Blind Peer Review: Submit two versions of the manuscript:

  • An anonymized manuscript that excludes all author-identifying information for peer review.
  • A complete manuscript that includes all authors’ names, institutional affiliations, ORCID iDs, and the corresponding author’s contact details for editorial use.

Privacy Statement

The Journal of International Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship (JIBE) collects basic personal information (such as names, affiliations and email addresses) solely for submission, peer review, editorial processing and publication, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
All data are securely stored in the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and are accessible only to authorized editorial staff.
Personal data are not sold or used for marketing purposes; limited sharing with trusted service providers (such as hosting and plagiarism detection) is carried out under strict confidentiality arrangements.
Published author details and article metadata form part of the permanent scholarly record and may be publicly available; data processing may occur outside Malaysia with appropriate safeguards in place.
Requests for access, correction or deletion of personal data (excluding published records) may be submitted to the editorial office via the journal website.
