Vol. 6 No. (S1) (2024): Special Issue of the Journal of Islamic Philanthropy & Social Finance (JIPSF) comprises 10 articles published in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU), Indonesia. This special issue broadens the journal’s multidisciplinary perspective by focusing on human resource management, organizational performance, leadership, productivity, and financial analysis within both public and private sector institutions. A central theme of the issue is the relationship between human capital and organizational effectiveness. Several studies investigate how factors such as employee competency, work attitude, motivation, leadership style, supervision, teamwork, and workplace environment influence employee performance and productivity. Many of these analyses are based on evidence from plantation companies, government agencies, and financial institutions in Indonesia, highlighting practical strategies for enhancing organizational outcomes. The issue also addresses aspects of financial management and corporate performance. Articles examine the financial performance of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange and evaluate the relationship between financial ratios and profit growth in the banking sector. These contributions provide insights into financial decision-making, performance measurement, and business sustainability in a competitive economic environment. Collectively, the 10 articles offer valuable perspectives on workforce development, leadership, organizational behaviour, and financial performance. While distinct from the journal’s regular focus on zakat, waqf, and Islamic social finance, this special issue contributes to broader discussions on economic development and institutional effectiveness, demonstrating the importance of sound management practices in achieving sustainable organizational and societal progress.
